The Procedure

Ultherapy is different from laser skin rejuvenation because, unlike lasers, Ultherapy does not affect the surface of the skin. Instead, Ultherapy delivers precisely targeted ultrasound energy to the deep tissue where collagen is found. This re-energizes collagen production to help lift and shift tired skin.

At the beginning of your procedure, a cool gel is applied to the skin. A smooth hand piece (similar to what is used during a pregnancy ultrasound) is then passed over the areas to be treated. Ultrasound energy is emitted during this process, so you may feel a slight prickling or warming sensation. We offer topical and/or injectable anesthesia to help make patients more comfortable. Treatment usually takes about one and a half to two hours, and you can go back to work immediately. No special aftercare is required.

Side effects are typically mild. They may include a light flush, minor swelling and tingling or tenderness. There may be bruising from the injections. You will notice an initial lifting effect right away, and real results will develop during the next several weeks as more new collagen is produced. Results typically last several years and can be repeated for even greater benefits.
