Can CoolSculpting® or EMSCULPT® Get Rid of Hip Dips? The Answer May Surprise You!

CoolSculpting and EMSCULPT are both effective body sculpting treatments that eliminate stubborn fat deposits and contour your body, but they are not very effective at ridding you of your hip dips. CoolSculpting can contour the outer thigh area where hip dips occur, but it can’t fill in the indentation that is the “hip dip.” Similarly, EMSCULPT can redefine muscle tone in the hip area and improve the appearance of hip dips, but it does not act as a filler.

So if CoolSculpting and EMSCULPT can’t help much with hip dips, how can they improve your body?

What Areas Can You Treat With CoolSculpting or EMSCULPT?

Love Handles

If you don’t love your “love handles” or the fat deposits above your hips, CoolSculpting can freeze away the fat cells for a sculpted waistline.

Inner and Outer Thighs

CoolSculpting can remove stubborn fat in your inner and outer thighs so you can enjoy shapely and smooth legs. In some cases, smoothing the fat on the outer thigh can help de-emphasize the appearance of hip dips.

Upper Arms

EMSCULPT can work great on flabby upper arms or any other area that requires significant toning. EMSCULPT is a versatile treatment since it can eliminate fat deposits and tone muscle at the same time.

Abdomen

You can easily achieve a flat, sculpted abdomen with EMSCULPT. This treatment can strengthen weak abdominal muscles and get rid of stubborn fat in your midsection.

Body Treatments That Can Improve Hip Dips

We have established that CoolSculpting and EMSCULPT can’t eliminate hip dips. But don’t despair, there are more treatments to explore!

Liposculpting

During this treatment, your plastic surgeon will remove fat from other areas of your body and inject it into your hips to fill in the hip dips.  As Healthline explains, the fat is removed through liposuction from your buttocks, stomach, and inner thighs. The fat is then separated from blood and other fluids and introduced to the hip area for smoother and more even-looking hips.

Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Sculptra® can be used as a filler for hip dips. Once Sculptra is injected into your hips, it can boost collagen production and add volume to the area to smooth out hollows or indentations. You will likely need several filler treatments to get the results you are looking for. Discuss fillers with your provider to see if they are a good option to improve your hip dips.

Even though CoolSculpting and EMSCULPT are not usually effective ways to improve hip dips, they can help with many other body concerns, as seen in this before and after gallery.
